Stardrops (2019) - Digital, Fizzy-Pop, Spot Painting

This artwork is actually one of several tests for an ongoing series. Thought it worked well as an artwork in it's own right. Please check out the detail close-up images for a better idea of the complexity of the composition.

Continuing my experimentation with new digital media and painting. The artwork is painted with a digital brush which can achieve effects impossible by traditional means. I am calling this my 'Fizzy POP' series.**

This particular artwork uses a brush 'loaded' with paint spots where the parameters (chosen by the artist) are altered to create different splatter effects. All the spots are perfectly symmetrical but are painted in such a way as to give the impression of depth or perspective.

Interestingly, when doing a Google image search the AI can't cope and is unable to see the face seeing it rather as a 'decorative' watercolour, floral imagery or Chinese goldfish paintings. Maybe Google should use it instead of their rather irritating traffic lights/cars etc for the bot/captcha human proving tests? This artwork is proof that you are human! ;)
