Artist: Czar Catstick & The Emperor's New Clothes Collective*
Continuing my experimentation with new media and digital painting. The artwork is painted with a digital brush which can achieve effects impossible by traditional means. I am calling this my 'Fizzy Pop' series.
This particular artwork uses a brush 'loaded' with paint spots where the parameters (chosen by the artist) are altered to create different splatter effects. All the spots are perfectly symmetrical but are painted in such a way as to give the impression of depth or perspective. As with many of the artworks in this series, I enjoy pushing the boundaries between figurative and abstract art.
I have a used a slightly different technique with this artwork as I wanted a softer, more fluid end result. In earlier pieces, I restricted myself (as a focus) to flat colours - here I am playing more with transparencies and opacity to create a different final mood. The result is essentially a watercolour style composition which works well with this medium.
