Bosch Floral Abstraction: Series

Collage of 50s advertising photographs set against photographic flower collage compositions and scenes from the right hand panel from the Hieronymus Bosch painting 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' *

The background includes images from the gardens of the Alhambra in Granada and the Alcazar in Seville. Photographic and artistic studies (including Notre-Dame de Paris and The Louvre) are also included as textures and elements with multiple exposures, over-painting, paint drips, scribbles and digital displacement effects. This particular piece also includes elements from an earlier (still ongoing) series (Too Blind to See) from alter-ego artist Jack Smith.**

The overall composition is extremely complex with hopefully different aspects seen by viewer each time the piece is considered. Inspired by a range of art styles from Pop Art Collage and Impressionism to Renaissance Baroque and Abstract Expressionism.

Artist: Czar Catstick & The Emperor's New Clothes Collective**

These Gallery Editions are hand-signed by the artist personally (on the front)* and include a unique Certificate of Authenticity.

*Surreal Pop Art, Photographic College including 50's photos and details from 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' (this is the modern title given to the triptych painted by the Early Netherlandish master Hieronymus Bosch, housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid since 1939). Full of symbolism, these composites have been updated from an earlier series specially for 2020 - composited against details from the third right hand panel illustrating scenes from Hell.

Many elements in the panel incorporate earlier iconographical conventions depicting hell. However, Bosch is innovative in that he describes hell not as a fantastical space, but as a realistic world containing many elements from day-to-day human life.

This particular piece is also part of the ongoing series of 'Organic Abstractions' and 'Alhambra Dreams' including elements from the Artist Jack Smith** 'Too Blind To See' series of artworks. #2020 Vision

Most of these blossom and flower photographs were taken within the beautiful grounds of the Alhambra and The Alcazar. Many of these original studies were used to create an extensive collection of fabric designs and artworks for both abstract and figurative patterns including the styles and designs of the amazing tiling and architectural features. These trips presently feel like an alternative lifetime away.
